Toca Timbre, hosted by KEXP El Sonido's DJ Albina and DJ Chilly is a monthly showcase at the Kremwerk Complex, spotlighting Latin music across all genres. This month features Barbi Recanati, a singer and guitar player based on Buenos Aires. In 2018 she started her solo career after 12 years being the frontwoman of Utopians
(Grammy Latin Nominated, Opening acts for Guns and roses, The Cure, Garbage, Courtney Barnett and played at Vive Latino in Mexico in addition to SXSW USA).
In March of 2019 she opened Courtney Barnett’s show in Buenos Aires and was part of Lollapalooza Argentina line up.
Barbi Recanati created and directs a feminist record label GOZA RECORDS, under which she released her first solo album "Ubicacion en Tiempo Real" in 2020. And she directs the podcast “MOSTRAS DEL ROCK” where she tells the history of women in rock.
