Stem Sampling Workshop

With DJ software's standardization of Stem Separation, the ability to isolate vocals, drums, bass, and melodic elements from a mixed song, comes the same capabilities for music producers. Some Digital Audio Workstations, like Live Suite, have added built in stem separation, there is standalone software, and even websites to extract stems.

Dave will go over some of these methods, as well as extracting midi, and techniques for making the sample your own. We'll also see if copyright law is evolving to cover this gray area of sampling.
